Beyond the Hype: Building a Framework for Responsible Integration of AI in Education

ChatGPT claims “ChatGPT is a cutting-edge language model that can revolutionize education.” I would not dispute that. However, the question becomes, in what ways?

Many educators have raised concerns about the use of AI in the context of teaching and learning. While some of that discussion has focused on academic integrity, the greater concern is the development of higher-order thinking skills.

In this session, we will discuss:

  • Concerns raised about AI, specifically ChatGPT, in the context of education
  • How AI tools can be incorporated into learning activities.


    About the Speaker

    Dr. Rob Pusch is senior associate director at Project Advance, overseeing instructional design and research. Rob also teaches in the Instructional Design, Development, and Evaluation Program in the School of Education at Syracuse University. He currently teaches courses in Analysis of Human Performance Technologies, Principles of Instruction and Learning, and Motivation in Instruction.
